Rio Vista is the perfect setting for family fun, a romantic weekend, or a business retreat. Located on 600 feet of open water on beautiful, constant level Lake LBJ in the Texas Hill Country, Rio Vista has magnificent trees, large beautiful lake houses, villas, cottages and R/V sites. There are also boat lifts, a fabulous swimming pool, a relaxing hot tub, ping pong, pool and gorgeous views. Best of all, at Rio Vista you’ll always find a friendly smile and courteous service.
Our lake houses are all located at our resort with the most gorgeous waterfront you can imagine. All have large, lush lawns and porches with commanding views of the lake. Houses are tastefully decorated in a southwestern style, and are equipped with every convenience for the perfect holiday. They sleep between 6 and 20 people with plenty of room for family fun.
There is also the Rio Grande cottage on site. It along with the Guadalupe, the San Antonio and the Sante Fe Houses, can accommodate pets. Like all the units at Rio Vista, the Rio Grande is beautiful, with a large porch, a great lake view, full kitchen, comfortable living area and sleeping space for 4 or 6.
Villas are all located within 200 feet of the most beautiful and active part of the lake, where the Llano and Colorado rivers converge. They all have patios or porches with magnificent views and sleep between 2 and 8 people. Each villa is decorated in a unique style, with all the conveniences of home.
Most of our R/V sites are located within 200 to 300 feet of the lake, many on shady lots with easy access to the lake, the swimming pool and other activities. There are picnic tables and barbeque pits throughout. Of course all sites have full hook-ups, including cable and most have internet access.
There is always plenty to do at Rio Vista. You can swim in the lake, or the heated pool, or relax in the hot tub. You can water ski, jet ski, kayak, play ping pong or pool, ride bikes, play games, feed the ducks, or fish from the covered pier. Nearby you can play golf, visit a wildlife preserve, explore caverns or wineries, find antiques or drive through LBJ’s ranch.
When the “Winter Texans” arrive, a different type of fun begins with pot luck dinners and brunches, bingo, Texas Hold’em, happy hours and parties. There are more activities at the Senior Center, which is only two blocks away. The Chamber also gets involved with monthly appreciation dinners complete with entertainment and prizes.
The area around Kingsland is full of interesting sites and fun activities. We are in the center of the Texas Wildflower Trail and the Wine Country. The Legends and Packsaddle golf courses are less than five minutes away, and seven more golf courses are within 20 minutes. The Lyndon B. Johnson ranch is a 30 minute drive, and Longhorn Caverns a 5 minute drive. Four of the Highland Lakes are within 10 miles, Austin is 60 miles away and San Antonio 85.
